I got a job at a bakery/coffee place. I started Friday morning. My schedule will be 5:30 am - 1:30 pm. My first day went pretty well, I think. I catch on pretty quickly and I don’t think I was completely useless for my first shift, so that’s good. I’m really good with people/customer service. I got to make coffee drinks and taste delicious treats and talk to nice people and some of my co-workers people I’ve known for a while. So, all-in-all, I’d say I really like my job.
I attempted to take a nap after my shift, because David purchased tickets for he and I to see THE PIXIES later that day, so I didn’t want to be like half asleep for the show but I couldn’t sleep because I had like 5 shots of espresso and 2 giant cups of tea. I got a second wind and went over to David’s.When I got there he was in the shower so Derrick and I watched the first episode of Eastbound Down & Out.It was pretty fucking hilarious.
The we headed to Mesa, watched The Fuck Buttons who were the opening band. Then THE PIXIES came out, played 4 or 5 B-Sides, the entire Doolittle album from track 1 to 15, came out and did 2 encores that included 5 or 6 more songs and ended with them playing Gigantic. It was definitely the best set I’ve seen them play. It was fucking awesome and I am very grateful that David was so nice and bought me a ticket because I had so much fun. Good music and good company is always great. The we went back to his house and went to sleep.
We woke up not early at all & went and had breakfast at Two Hippies Breakfast Joint, cause he had never been. I had an omelette and some crazy lemonade slushy thing. It was pretty delicious. The rest of the day consisted of mostly being lazy and sleeping a lot. For dinner we went to La Condesa and I had amazing mahi mahi tacos and a ton of chips and salsa. Went back to his house, watched some Always Sunny, smoked a couple cigarettes and then I left. I drove over to meet Billie & Chris at Grand Avenue Festival a total of like 2 blocks from his house.
I was a little disappointed with the festival this year, it seemed like there were way more people out last year for some reason. So we went to Bikini, talked to Wes, got hit on by some creepy dude sitting at the bar, watched them play pool, listened to Chris tell me several cheesy jokes and drank 2 cups of cherry coke then bounced.
I had a really good weekend so far. Tomorrow will be a lot of cleaning, laundry and homework doing. I mean, that’s the PLAN but tomorrow will be the first day where Billie and I will both be home with NOTHING to do…. so we’ll probably get into some shenanigans, I’m sure.
Right now I’m just very grateful for the people in my life and the experiences I get to share with them. Things are pretty darn good. Life lately FTW.
